Yedê-shitê Bî (/ˈjedɘ/ /ˈʃitɘ/ [backward] [gravel]) is a subtropical Town located in the Nêndënkîte Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Yedê-shitê Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Yedê-shitê Bî was founded by Glêv Zënm, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Yedê-shitê Bî has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 17°C (62°F). Yedê-shitê Bî receives an average of 253 cm/y (99 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Yedê-shitê Bî covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 2968 m (9737 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Yedê-shitê Bî was founded durring the early 11th century, by Glêv Zënm. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Glêv Zënm.

Yedê-shitê Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Yedê-shitê Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Yedê-shitê Bî is buildings are arranged arround a single premissive canals mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the town a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The town rests behind the absurdity that is a thick, timber braced, wall made of clay bricks. While visualy impressive and certainly an astetic, Yedê-shitê Bî's wall provides no actual defence against siege equipment due to the choice of its cosntruction materials. Even nonexperts can tell the town is trying to impress rather than defend with its walls, towers, and gatehouses. Though admittedly, they do look nice... To primitive tribals who have never seen fortifications before. Unfortuantly, these political statment focused walls are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Yedê-shitê Bî has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Yedê-shitê Bî ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. On top of this is an unmistakable feeling that Yedê-shitê Bî is in this condition because there is something terribly wrong with the town. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine which makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Yedê-shitê Bî long.

Civic Infrastructure

Yedê-shitê Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Yedê-shitê Bî.

Yedê-shitê Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Yedê-shitê Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Yedê-shitê Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Yedê-shitê Bî has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Yedê-shitê Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Yedê-shitê Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Religious leaders are influential in almost any community, but in Yedê-shitê Bî they make up the final authorities. It may be an explicit theocracy, with rule by the clerics of a particular faith, or a temple might be so important and powerful that the official leaders are helpless to resist its will. The locals can be expected to be loyal adherents to the faith, or else the less pious majority is deeply intimidated by the religion’s believers.

Yedê-shitê Bî's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .

In Yedê-shitê Bî snow is warm to the touch and does not melt within city limits. Also it only happens during summer.

The Water Strider Swarm near Yedê-shitê Bî are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Yedê-shitê Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves bloodletting to channel Transmutation energies of tier 2 via throat singing.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Kami spared the town from the rampage of a legendary monster. One of Yedê-shitê Bî's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
